Rainfest 2008

What are the odds? I swear looking at the forecast for that weekend the only place in the country that was getting rain was Lyons and we were not prepared. The folks fest turned into rain fest. It rained all day Friday and half of the day on Sat. We ended up leaving early Friday because the rain wouldn't stop, we were wet and it was to hard to try to work the rain with a 14 mo. old. Although Noah did take a nap under an umbrella covered by a tarp. My mom, dad, sister and brother toughed it out while Lauren, Trav, Noah and I high tailed back to the hotel to get warm, eat and watch Kung Fu Panda in the room.
We did get a nice pair of wool hiking socks for free Friday!

Saturday we spent the morning buying rain gear and preparing to tough it out. My parents bought an easy up awning and my dad and brother left early to stake out a spot to put it up at the festival. We got there Sat. afternoon and it had just started to clear up but boy was it muddy. Luckily we found some rain boots and were ready for fun in the mud. We heard a few good singers but were a little disappointed with the line up. We really wanted to hear KT Tunstall and Missy Higgins who played Sun.
It was certainly an adventure and we look forward to going back and next time enjoying, hopefully, lots of sun.
